CusterXX

Forgot the number of blog posts about custer.
Weather is turning hot, just like Singapore.
Work is tiring, but tips are the ones that keep me going.
Made new friends, had joy and laughter.
Internet here is pissing me off, cable is badly cripped. Router itself is bad.
Get d/c everytime before i upload all my photos.
Been two weeks le. Everything is fine.
Friday is my pay day. Finally. And its my off day too.
Don't know what's the day and date for the day when i wake up every morning.
It's not important anyway.
Houseflies are becoming more active due to the weather.
Unlike the ones in Singapore, these are really bugging and slow.
Probably if i have the chance, and the people here stays and continue next seasons, I would want to come back again. =)

Today is finally my day off after working like for 8 or 9 days. Decided to check out the nearby resort and we decide to walk instead of like renting a bike which is faster. In the end, we walked 6miles which is like 9.7 km to the next resort. Spent like 2 hours plus walking the winding highway and like gaining in altitude. Wah like in vest slack road march..But the destination is like not fantastic which like...feel abit...wasted kind of feeling. Luckily when we walked back, one of the cook saw us and gave us a lift back. Though back track is going downhill but then..is like another 2 hours walk..going to die lar...

In the end we came back just in time to go to town (cause one lady was telling us in the morning that she was going town in the aftn and asked us whether we wanna go). First time in town. Well, here is such an ulu place, their like downtown 'broadwalk' is like half the length of the orchard road only. Went to the so called Asian market well just a shop selling asian products from korean, china etc. haha saw my milo...but a single packet of instant noodles which cause 1.50 usd...in singapore that money i can like buy 5 packets lar!

Then went wall mart their general store like that..was huge..hard time finding what we need sia...but then came back...so this is how i spent my off day..haiz..hopefully next time i can go to like tourist attraction nearby la....so sian here...

(sneak pics of my dorm..)

Today was a rather relaxing day for me but a hectic day for the kitchen helpers, front desk, servers etc...cause there was a mothers' day buffet lunch at the lodge.

The housekeepers for the day were only me and a Filipino couple. They were really fast with the cleaning of room..which make me stress lar! when i only finish the bathroom and part of the sink, they were like almost done and start to vacuum the floor le! Oh my! i haven fininshed like foild the towels etc and put the stuff back to the place!...But they are really very nice!...Haha..in the end, we slack the day thru...

There was no lunch today...cause of the buffet event, but then dinner was the leftovers of the buffet. Finally the first time i have tasted fish here....normally is like bacon (standard for breakfast), if not meat beef or pork i think..

But What i wanted to say is that..the Asians here (the migrant workers) are really a close knitted family here.. I m really really touched by the care n concern given by them..

I was chatting with my supervisor and her bf (the Filipino couple - Glasier and Edmer)..she like asked whether i got food to eat in the night as like we have our dinner at 430..wat if we get hungry....I replied like...not realli cause i would have a hearty meal lar..wun eat less for diet that kind here...so i dun really feel hungry at night. Then she was really kind enough to offer me some noodles to cook which i decline alr..cause i wasnt really hungry...

Then came my boss and his wife i think..Filipinos. ( Roberto and ...haha i dun koe his wife name....) knocking on our door now bringing us food! and cooking pots!...They said that they heard from Glasier that we havent got any food!...Really really touched when they bought us water, bread, cooking pots, cups and even noodles!
I dont think i will eat them..haha cause for the past few days I don't feel really hungry so din eat anything during the night but was touched by the concern shown. Think i really have to like buck up in my housekeeping sia..if not like let them down like that...
Hmm, got to koe more about them while talking to Edmer and Glasier this aftn, like where they worked before coming here etc, how they like find no jobs back in their own countries, and realli do cleaner, kitchen jobs, sometimes under snobbish bosses..here and even Singapore. Its really not the job i think, like you k sense and hear the tone if one American talks to one of us compared to talking to a partime American house keeper, really is different....
of course some are good too. There is this partime house keeper lady that helped us alot today by driving us around to the cabins and really did up all the laundry for us...if not for her..haha the three of us wun have time to slack!...

Two days as housekeeper were tiring. Especially the first day. Follow the manager to all the cabins (they are like far apart, so drive is necessary). Wah i think we covered like at least 20 log cabins, with 4 check out and few stay-over (tidy up). But my manager did most of the cleaning and stuff. He is really very 'zai' in it lar..Well he worked here for 9 years le.

(on the right is the so called cabin i m refering to)

Today was much better. Only three check outs and 2 stay over. so pretty relax. (and we check all the cabins the day before). Plus today got another experienced housekeeper with us. Wah he is very meticulous i would say. He really wipe and clean things thoroughly etc. Went to this laundry room to clean up..omg..all the insects and spiderweb, I like try to 'gein' by not squatting and go underneath to clean all the webs haha..but in the end saw the experienced guy who did it, haiz bo bian have to do it also (my boss, manager like very serious and like pms today, must be me lar..haha think i very not up to his grade leh...they are fast..which make me more stress lor..)
Then we headed down to a chapel that was locked. wah...-_-!! inside is full of dead houseflies. really very bad..worse than the laundry room. Took the whole squad, which is like 8 people at the most? (cabin cleaners and resort cleaners to clean up the place and its still nt very clean in the sense lar..but compared to the housefly invested.realli imagine the window, benches, floor all with flies..cannot siam one by not stepping on it..no clean area for you to step on... but okie lar..at least wun kanna spider webs in the face.

(on the right is the resort/room like where our hq is lar..where the supplies are. So we will pack everything we need and put it into a van and drive to the cabins around the place which is wat i do with my manager. Other housekeepers will stay here n tidy up the rooms, without any need to move around)

Those doing all the housecleaning, kitchen helpers, servers are all mirgrants workers, from philippines, indonesia, etc....so thehouse keeping squad is yup from philippines. And they are really very nice and friendly; on the other hand some Americans really think they are the bosses that kind...i meant...realli lar..u can feel the discrimination still lar...BUT not all of the whites are like that! some are realli friendly and nice..like a lady just now..she overheard that i needed coins for washing my laundry and offered to me. haha..but then again..there are really irritating people....
Anyway..my job is hands on, dirty, shit job that kind. Well if you were to say wat can i learn from it..well...maybe i will start a cleaning service? no lar..but then..an experience to see how an organisation works, and of course the interpersonal rls and a clearer picture of the migrant workers and discrimination and stuff and how cocky some Americans could be.....

Custer Park part2

Chose not to start work immediately. Dorm was pretty all right bah. Not dilapidated but then..not that superb either. spent the night cleaning up our dorm. And rs. there is really no toilet paper! haha..must go buy later.People are friendly around here. Probably they find it hard to listen to our accent. Ask them A, they answered you B, unless you repeat what u said SLOWLY. and no one knows where Singapore is....

Here is realli like outfield. like Australia where i had my exercise back in army. forest everywhere and realli no entertainment or wat so ever. Town is like an hour drive away. and really have to depend on the people there to ferry you to town if you need to buy stuff.
The router here sucks. always unstable. but better than nothing i guess.

Food here is ya...nothing fantastic.. three dishes normally. morning: bacon egg and pancakes. aftn: minced beef, mashed potato and veggie. Tot that like at least there are some instructions for us to follow. Well thats none. Its like do as you deem fit that kind. buffaloes are just like nesting outside our dorms..Wow..they are really huge man..

Okie. i think i will treat it like two months of army outfield then...haha..at least..been thru that before. Gonna start work as house keeper tomorrow.shd be fine i guess..

Okie..time to go..my partner wanna go jogging -_-!!later we run past the workplace they will be like..wat the hell are the two people doing...haha...okie better run back to my dorm liao..the bulls are grazing at the porch!

First day of travel (still not at my destination yet..)

Singapore time: 7:11
Denver time: 17:11
Travelled for a day already and I have not reached my destination (rapid city)!!. Tired of travelling....Now waiting for my plane to rapid. Nothing really fascinating happened on the trip..Onboard entertainment(United Airline) sucks..food sucks..haiz...

Singapore - Narita(Tyoko) was hell of a ride...the air turbulence was wow..like riding a rollercoaster.. the lady beside me..still like thumbs up and said was fun...-_-!!cant imagine gg theme parks with her...

6:40 singapore time
7:00 SIngapore time

Singapore - Seattle was pretty much better. But was freaking long....and there was this Chinese guy who was not feeling well and vomitted(into a bag).. Cabin crew has no one who is able to communicate with him...and yup...think i m the like 'suay' one..was asked if I know how to speak..Subconsicously i was like..pls..dun kanna any virus from him when i was translating stuff to him....Encountered lots of Asian American at the custom at seattle..wow i m impressed by an American immigration officer who speaks Japanese fluently. Ups man...

Seattle Int airport is like some domestic airport....realli...kind of like some metro or subway station like that..haha...have to switch so many shuttle train to the departure hall.. Finally reached denver int airport. Denver's airport is so much better. Had pizza for lunch..was realli good...but X sia... ard 15 plus sing dollars for a regular size pizza....

Okay..will upload rest of the photos onto facebook and blog soon...batt is running low now..

天冷就回来

Tomorrow, the last exam for this sem. The day after tomorrow, off to the states.
Went to watch 天冷 the musical on sat at the drama centre at NLB. I think it started off well but after the interval, things kind of bore me. Nonetheless, I think its quite an 'all right' production for me. Nothing really 'wow' me; nothing was bad either.
Kind of mentally 'sick' of my parents' naggings. Just seems like unnecessary 'stress' for me. Sigh. I think i would eventually fall sick due to their naggings (self fulfilling prophecy?), I hope not. Cant really physically fall sick at this time. Sighs. By just thinking of it makes me feel more tired.
Had a chat with my army pals on sat as well. Really lighten up my mood much. Back home, chatted again with a close friend of mine. Felt much relaxed. Too relaxed. Haha, in the end, today, now as i blog, I kind of feel that I am not confident or the least prepared for my test tomorrow. Just see how it goes.

Good Game

Had a good bball game just now...wah...realli...have to admit old already...strained my back alittle again..haiz..lao le....compare with those sec/poly students...they are realli on steroids that kind...compared with the pri sch kids..oh my..they played better than when i was in sec 2 lar...but kind of true as well(talking to my friend)..bball is like nt a 'hot fav' sport right now...compared to like soccer or tabletennis or badminton i guess...welll bball now is like those ah beng ah seng..wear slippers and play...totally disgusted lar...

Swine flu outbreak quite worries me tho...haiz...friends, news, parents, all like keep feeding info to me...sometimes i like quite easily swayed as well haha..but then..now is like...'pls dont say any further that kind' i will take extra extra extra precaution....

Going to have my last paper on monday then off on tues...haiz..totally holiday mood liao...not seriously studying for it...been watching xmen cartoon (my childhood time one) on youtube and yesman dvd...Yesman was quite all right...haha..maybe i shd start to say 'yes' to things..and realli experience new stuffs rather than stick ard in my own little comfort zone...

Was kind of 'emo' i guess ytd...haha think i slack too much by not studying and like nth on my mind and then go think of all the past...haha..have to keep myself realli occupied sia..Anyway is just rambling stuff again...haha..but..bear with it lar..will upload/update when i m ovs!
